L. R. Generson

A new piece that I created for Boston Globe's Op-Ed page.  The story is about a woman's connection, through her old Charle's Dickens volumes, to their previous owner, L. R. Generson.  Her research leads her to discover that the man led an extraordinary and accomplished life.  As in Dickens' novels, everything is connected to everything else.

This is my first time with an op-ed illustration including same-day turnaround. It was an intense and fun experience with no time for second-guessing.  Thanks to AD Jane Martin for the opportunity.

Society of Illustrators

Great news!  This year I am honored to have three pieces selected for The Society of Illustrators 54th annual, including a Gold Medal in the Advertising category for my Okkervil River poster here for their concert in Richmond.  Also selected is my other Okkervil River poster for their Seattle show here and my Beirut poster here.  I'm absolutely thrilled about everything!

Okkervil River (richmond)

Here is a new poster I designed and printed for Okkervil River.  I haven't screen-printed in a couple years, so it was a fun challenge to bust out over 100 of these things.  2 colors at 18" by 24", all signed and numbered.  There are a limited amount that I have for sale for $20, so shoot me an email if you would like one.
It's always a pleasure to work with a group of stand-up people that create great music that I respect.  They also put on a terrific live performance, so check them out if possible.
Below is the original drawing, done on location at the Main Street Train Station here in Richmond.  Also, some close shots of the prints.
