Prisoner Bees
This painting was based off an article in Mother Jones about certain organizations using prisoners with good behavior to do "green" jobs such as organic farming and working with bees. The prisoners are paid next to nothing and use primitive methods when compared to major horticultural businesses; however, they often have better results. This image was created on the idea that the prisoners are doing the bees' work.
mixed media on paper, 9" x 12"

Awesome idea Leslie! The execution is really nice as well with the prisoners coming more and more into focus
